[VIDEO] Cannon Hill | You’ll Never Guess Who’s a Member of This Local Club
By Shannon Edwards // Place Bulimba
With two large bowling greens, a function room and bar and bistro, Cannon Hill Community Sport Club is a popular destination for inner-aast locals.
The community club welcomes everyone to join in on a game of lawn bowls no matter their age and ability (in fact, they encourage beginners to come along and give it a try!)
When paying a visit to the club, we were surprised to see a familiar face…
This member is no stranger to the sporting world. Perhaps you may recognise him from his years on the cricket pitch.
Who could it be? Check it out!
As a major sponsor of the club we asked Meagan Muir what she thinks is so great about Cannon Hill Bowls Club.
Right in the heart of the fantastic Cannon Hill community. The club is extremely welcoming, friendly and has a great community feel to it.
There’s no wonder that professional sports people like Kepler choose to play at this club!
It’s a fantastic place to meet long-time community locals who all have their unique stories to tell about Cannon Hill.
The club committee and managers are always coming up with new initiatives such as holding functions and events to provide a fun and inviting space for locals.
Why is it important for you to sponsor the Cannon Hill Bowls Club?
As I actively sell property in this pocket of Brisbane it was really important for me to be able to give back to the local community.
I saw the bowls club as a great opportunity as they’re a bit of a hidden secret in the area. It’s been my mission to work with the 50-year-old establishment to get them more exposure and increase their members.
I not only sponsor the club itself, but also sponsor games and encourage families and people of all ages to come down.
I’m here to help keep the spirit alive and to welcome the wider community to join in on the fun!
