Have you left your New Year’s Eve plans a little late? Have no fear! On the Dec 31, the city will light up with an array of celebrations. It’s just a matter of choosing where to ring in the new year.
We’ve compiled a list of this year’s best celebratory activities in New Farm and surrounds.
Fortitude Valley | Cloudland
If you’re seeking a classier evening to end the year, Cloudland is the place for you.
It’s ‘Black and Gold Ball’ will see you kick off 2018 in style and glamour.
Tickets provide you with 4.5 hours of sparking, beer, wine, spirits and the Cloudland’s cocktail of the night, as well as substantial canapés.
Feeling special? Treat yourself to a VIP ticket and your package will include top-notch drinks and access to the private VIP room and bar.
New Farm | Watt
New Farm’s riverside restaurant and bar, Watt, is putting on the ultimate final feast of 2017.
The evening kicks off with an exquisite three course meal and a three-hour drinks package, accompanied by live entertainment of course.
The dinner wraps up at 9.30 but you can stay on and indulge in their signature cocktails.
Alternatively, jump on a ferry into the city to view the midnight fireworks.
Brisbane City | Blackbird
Blackbird’s Gold-Label New Year’s Eve experience provides you with waterfront views to welcome in the new year.
The evenings package includes champagne, cocktails, spirits, beer and wine.
Executive chef Jake Nicolson will be preparing canapés and food stations.
To end 2017 with a bang, Blackbird is putting on a range of entertainment across multiple floors with roving performers, live music and guest DJ’s.
Brisbane City | Sake
Ring in 2018 with an out-of-this-world contemporary Japanese cuisine experience.

Fireworks
What would New Year’s Eve be without an exclusive firework show lighting up Brisbane city in vibrant neon hues?
The main city firework display goes off over South Bank at both 8.30pm and midnight, each for 10 minutes.
The best spot to view the fireworks are from the Clem Jones Promenade, Streets Beach and River Quay.
There will also be fireworks at Eagle Street Pier and Portside Wharf from the Brisbane River, again at 8.30pm and midnight.
Tip: Make sure you arrive early to secure a spot for your friends and family.
