State of Origin 1 | Your Caxton Street Guide
State of Origin is one of those events that can either bring people together or drive them apart, all depending on what side of the border your loyalties lie.
If you weren’t one of the lucky few to secure a spot inside the stadium for the game, the next best place to catch all the action is Caxton Street.
Stumbling distance from the ground itself, there is no where better to make the most of one of the greatest clashes of titans known to man.
The Caxton

The Caxton Hotel is so close to the stadium you can hear the Queenslander cry loud and clear. Whether you are after a steak, or a feast fit for a front rower there is something to please everyone. There's also a ticketed pre-game event for those who have nabbed a ticket to the game.
Gambaro’s

Gambaro’s has seen a number of changes and facelifts over the years, but has remained an iconic part of Caxton Street. From steak to seafood and everything in between, the quality at Gambaros is one thing that everyone can agree from, no matter what side of the border you’re from.
Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall

Lefty’s is by far one of the most unique venues in Brisbane, its old western charm and extensive collections of Whisk(e)ys and rums makes it a great choice for those who are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.
Fritzenburger

The Fritzenberger menu reminds us of the QLD origin records, win after win after win. Not only that, choosing which of their locally sourced craft beers to try first is like deciding which QLD captain is the greatest of them all, almost impossible. Located at the Barracks end of the street, it’s a bit more of a stumble from the stadium but definitely worth the trip.
Overall, no matter if you are mates with the maroon men or believe in the boys in blue, Caxton Street is the perfect (and obvious) choice for celebrating one of the greatest sporting events of the year.
