Seven Hills | The Inner-East’s Hidden Gem

The windey, tree-lined roads of Seven Hills are never short of sites to see.

There’s something welcoming about the neighbourhood’s streets, buzzing with activity and locals out & about enjoying the fresh air.

Nestled in between Norman Park and Morningside, a mere 5 kilometres east from the CBD, Seven Hills has more to offer than just a beautiful residential suburb.

It’s not only the close proximity to the city’s amenities but also the local schools, fitness centres and shopping precincts that make Seven Hills an excellent family environment.

Amongst the neighbourhood’s quaint Queenslanders and modern homes, Seven Hills has a number of hidden suburban gems.

La Bomba Café & Bar

Café by day and tapas bar by night, La Bomba Café & Bar serves up delicious and nutritious Latin inspired dishes.

The candy striped wallpaper and eclectic furniture gives La Bomba an aesthetic that makes the atmosphere so inviting.

The cafe offers a stand out breakfast menu including favourites such as ‘Crushed Avo’ on toast to their special ‘El Salvador’ black pudding with bacon, baked beans, eggs and roma tomatoes - yum.

Bushland Reserve

Over 50 hectares in size, the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve is your perfect escape from the inner-city lifestyle.

The open eucalyptus forest with natural creeks lined by paperbarks provide excellent scenic views.

With numerous access points throughout the suburb (Latina Avenue, D’Arcy Road and Richmond Road), the bushland walking circuit is suited for an afternoon stroll, or a morning cross-country workout.

We spoke with local Brisbane Lions player, Tom Rockliff, who shared how the circuit is part of his everyday life.

“What’s so nice about the bush-walking tracks is that you can feel like you’ve escaped the busy city life, even though you’re so close,” says Tom.

The Rabbit Hole Café

This old weatherboard cottage is a favourite amongst the locals with delightfully decorated interior, making it a comfortable setting for the whole family.

The Rabbit Hole serves up an all-day breakfast menu including a big brekky with the works or smaller options for the wee ones.

But the deliciousness doesn’t stop there - you can pick up a gourmet sandwich for lunch or book in for dinner on Thursdays through to Sundays.
