It’s that time again - school holidays!

Have you worked out how to keep the kids busy over the break?

Why not make use of the beautiful climate this time of year and spend the time outdoors.

When it comes to beautiful parks, we are spoilt for choice on the Southside of Brisbane.

Here are the top five parks you should visit with your kids these holidays.

Whites Hill Reserve - Holland Park

If you’re after adventure, Whites Hill Reserve is the place for you.

While you walk along one of the designated bush-walking tracks, the kids will love the interactive sign boards along the way.

After a nice big walk, refuel with a picnic under the shady trees or set up at one of the BBQ facilities.

If the kids have more energy to burn they can go wild on the playground with the flying fox and climbing equipment.

Minnippi Parkland - Carina

In the heart of Brisbane’s east side sits Minnippi Parkland.

Hectares of meadowland surrounds a beautiful lotus-covered lagoon making this spot perfect for a stroll, birdwatch or a picnic with the kids.

Up for some afternoon activity? Around the parklands are designated paths great for cycling or walking.

What’s unique about this place is the aviation themed playground looking over the lagoon. We know the little ones will love it!

Lavarack Park - Camp Hill

Have you got a cricket lover in the family?

Lavarack Park has its very own cricket pitch which is perfect for a bit of friendly family competition.

Whether you’ve played the game before or are looking to learn some new skills, a game of cricket is sure to wearout the little ones.

After you’ve burned some energy, sit back and refuel at one of the communal BBQ’s.

Majestic Park - Coorparoo

When it comes to classic neighbourhood parks, Majestic Park is one to check out.

Smack bang in the middle of Camp Hill, this park is a local go-to.

With large open spaces, a fantastic playground and communal picnic tables, this park is perfect for a quick visit when the kids get fidgety at home.

Abbeville Street Park - Mount Gravatt

Abbeville Street Park, located in Upper Mount Gravatt has a great sheltered playground perfect for an outside venture on a hot day.

With plenty to do including swings, slides, a seesaw and climbing nets, the kids will be occupied for quite some time!

This park is great for all ages including infants and bigger kids.
