Camp Hill | Here’s 5 Skin Tips For The Change Of Season
By Chelsea Keim // Place Coorparoo
A change of a season can do all sorts of things to your body and mind.
You change your clothes, your doona, your hair and so much more.
But did you ever think that you may have to change your skin routine?
We caught up with skin expert and owner at Soap and Sugar Medispa in Camp Hill, Kiri Johns, who gives us her top five skin tips coming into summer.
1. Exfoliate
The most underrated and most important part of your skincare routine.
Exfoliation once to twice a week not only removes the dead layer of skin but will allow your skincare to penetrate to where it is needed.
Therefore the result will be not only smoother, younger looking skin but you’ll use less product as well.

2. Hydrate
Moisturising your skin twice a day (after cleansing) helps maintain our barrier. Keeping our acid mantle intact and preventing trans-epidermal water loss.
It’s especially important to keep your skin hydrated in the warmer seasons.

3. Protect
Always using an SPF daily keeps our skin protected from UVA and UVB damage.
The sun is the biggest contributor to aging and is at it’s strongest in summer.
4. Water
H2O! Everybody needs to increase their water intake.
Especially in our Queensland humidity. If our skin is dehydrated it makes us look older and damaged.

5. Balanced Diet
Fresh fruit and vegetables not only keep us healthy on the inside but improves the health of our skin on the outside too.
The antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals found in a balanced diet helps to fight free radicals, which can lead to skin disease such as skin cancer.
