Author // Chelsea Keim, Place Coorparoo

What’s for dinner? The question that lingers in the back of your mind all day, but mostly, after lunch has settled and 5pm is in your sights.

There’s nothing worse than coming home from a long day at work to an empty fridge and no idea what to cook. Why not indulge a little and let someone else do the hard work for you.

Not sure where to go or what to get? Think no more!

We have put together a list of our five favourite restaurants for a feed, to either dine in or takeaway!

Greek on Cav

If you are on the hunt for traditional Greek cuisine, then you can’t go past this place. Greek on Cav combine’s authentic Hellenic fare with local Australian produce.

Although they are famous for their Loukoumades aka Honey Puffs, they yield all things Greek!

The iconic blue and white theme complemented with paintings from Greece sends your imagination somewhere in the Greek Islands.

California Native

Who isn’t California dreaming… California Native is the closest we are going to get (for now).

This rustic ranch style restaurant serves up a blend of new American, Mexican and southern Californian dishes, some based from one of the owner’s grandmother’s recipes.

It’s a fabulous place to wind down and enjoy a cocktail from the bar while you sift through the menu.

Fire & Spice – A Taste of Sri Lanka

Fire & Spice is serving up the most delicious Sri Lankan dishes in town. How lucky are we? Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine right on our doorstep.

If you are new to Sri Lankan food, try the buffet style menu so you can give everything a go. Otherwise, the staff are very helpful when it comes to explaining the dishes.

Right on Thai

We’re yet to meet that one person who doesn’t like Thai food.

Packed with herbs and spices and loads of vegetables, it’s typically one of the healthier options.

Right on Thai adjusts their menu to suit the Australian tastes, but if you ask, they will provide you with the authentic Thai spice you are looking for.

Did we mention they have deep fried ice-cream? Yep. Deep fried ice-cream!
