[VIDEO] Pantry 360 | Bringing the Best Local Products to Newstead
By Shannon Edwards // Place New Farm
Consider yourself a bit of a foodie? Love supporting our local farmers? Pantry 360 is a place to try!
The cafe and store brings the freshest produce and unique products from a 360 kilometre radius of Brisbane to the streets of Newstead.
Trust us, your baked-eggs brunch will taste much better when you know all the products are coming from our local businesses and farmers.
We caught up with the masterminds behind the business, Greg Bakx and Jenny Conlon who share the concept of the store and the importance of supporting the ‘little guys’ in the produce business.
Growing up in a small country town, a baker by trade, Greg took us on a tour through the store, showing us some of the best products.
How did Pantry 360 come about?
Pantry 360 was an idea that we had in our minds for quite a long time.
The whole thought process was to support local industries.
Within the 360 kilometre radius of Brisbane there’s a whole belt of volcanic soils in a subtropical climate that give us access so many premium products from the Bundaberg region, Noosa, down to the Byron Bay Hinterland.
Our coffee comes from that region and is a pretty unique blend called Graham.
Graham came about when we were selecting our house blend out of a range of single origin beans.
It’s actually named after our milkman, Graham, who spent the day with us tasting all the different blends and helped us come to the decision.
