After you have brunch this Saturday at one of New Farms many cafes, why not walk down the road treat yourself to some shopping.

Shopping doesn’t always have to be expensive. New Farm’s RSPCA Op-Shop has some seriously funky pieces, for a ridiculously low price.

“We have everything from name branded  pieces with the tags still on to one-off retro finds selling for really cheap” says store manager, Debra Foster.

And what’s even better? You don’t have to feel guilty about filling your wardrobe with another scarf or trendy denim jacket this winter, because 100% of the proceeds go straight back to the RSPCA.

Yes, that’s right, your shopping habits can help save animals!

“What we like to do here is donate a piece from home for every new item we buy in store,” says Debra.

Having worked as a volunteer in the store for many years and recently taking over as manager, Debra is passionate about stocking the best quality, quirky pieces for the shoppers of New Farm.

And what happens with all the items you donate?

Rachel Hrycek is in charge of looking after all the RSPCA Op Shops across the state, ensuring that the donations go to the store they suit the most, so that eventually everything sells!

“Every item can really help make a difference,” says Rachael.

While browsing the racks for some hidden treasures, we ask Debra, ‘what makes op shopping so great?’
