No plans for the big day? Well, there’s no doubt you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to where to watch the race and have a few cheeky cocktails.

Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of the top Melbourne Cup functions in the 4006 for 2017.

Cloudland

Known for hosting outstanding functions of all scales throughout the years, Cloudland is a key venue for celebration. This year Cloudland is hosting not one, but TWO boujee parties that will have you feeling chic.

The Madame Hedges Cocktail party is a three-hour cocktail party providing you with the entertainment of roaming performances, Fashions on the Field and of course, live coverage of the races.

For just $99 per person you’ll enjoy an array of canapes and a three hour beverage package offering French bubbles, beers, wine and the signature Cloudland Cocktail.

If there’s anywhere that takes Cup Day to the next level it’s Gerard’s Bistro and Bar.

Continuing their Melbourne Cup legacy, Gerard’s invites you to join them to “uncover the bizarre and curious world of French mathematician, Gerard Desargues.”

Prepare to have your senses delighted as you enter an oasis of geometric shapes and metallic embellishments…this is Melbourne Cup unlike you’ve ever seen it before!

For $220 you’re invited to join them from 11am for a delectable five hour food and drink package including fresh seafood, cured meats and a selection of Gerard’s Bistro favourites.

Of course, there will be a livestream of the race on a widescreen TV as well as live entertainment and music.

Woolly Mammoth Alehouse

If you’re looking for prime footage of the race and great beer then this is the function for you.

Woolly Mammoth will be displaying the race on several screens across the entire alehouse, offering two different ticket selections.

The first includes a 2-course feasting table lunch of mouth-watering starters, a selection of meaty mains perfectly accompanied by an array of sides, all for $89 per person.

And the other, the Mammoth buffet! Both including a three hour mammoth beverage package of craft beers, wines and sparkling.
