Christmas is almost here and Brisbane’s brimming with music and merriment!

From carols to fireworks, the city is lighting up this festive season with lights and celebrations, perfect for the whole family.

From the of November 25 to December 24 you can experience enchanting entertainment throughout the city, South Bank and Roma Street Parklands.

We’ve compiled the ultimate Christmas guide of what to see and do this December.

Christmas Movies in the Park

When: December 8 - 17

Where: Roma Street Parkland

What: Grab a picnic rug and your favourite movie snacks and head down to the Roma Street Parkland Amphitheatre to catch up on all your favourite Christmas classics.

Lay back in the warm summer air with your friends and family and enjoy an array of movies each evening from 7pm.

From Elf and Home and Alone to Love Actually and Four Holidays, the Parklands put on flicks perfect for the whole family.

Christmas Parade

When: December 15 - 24

Where: Queen Street Mall, Brisbane City

What: With a nativity scene, Santa and dozens of performers, the Christmas parade is the perfect entertainment set to delight the whole family.

Running every evening from 7pm, the parade is a Brisbane favourite family tradition.

Christmas Fireworks

When: December 20 - 23

Where: Clem Jones Promenade, South Bank Parklands

What: The city skylight lights up with an array of colour and sparkly at South Bank’s firework spectacular.

Presented by eatSouthBank, the firework display overlooks the parklands and kicks off at 7.45pm from December 20-23.

Out tip for the best view of the fireworks –score yourself a position at the Clem Jones promenade, Streets Beach or River Quay.

Christmas Village

When: December 15 – 23

Where: South Bank Parklands

What: From 3-10pm each night you can find unique and beautiful wares at the South Bank Christmas Village.

Wander down the cobblestoned streets and browse the stalls filled with everything from toys, homewares, fashion and jewellery to tasty treats and snacks. There’s always something special to be found at the markets.

There will also be free kids craft and dance activities held daily at the Stanley Street Plaza from 3pm as well as the ‘Village Train’ which takes kids on a train ride to see the vibrant street performers.

Village Beats and Carols by Twilight

When: December 15 – 23

Where: Arbour View Café lawns

What: Bless your ears with soulful live music at Village Beat for a half-hour carol sessions at 4.15pm, 5.45pm and 7.15pm.

What would Christmas celebrations be without singing a carol yourself? Join in for the sing-a-long Carols by Twilight at River Quay for half-hour sessions taking place at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm daily.

The carollers will change each evening with the program including, The Salvation Army Brisbane City Temple, Hillsong, Voices of Birralee, Queensland Show Choir, In the Mood Four, Diva Productions Australia, Ensemble Diaspora with Brisbane City Sounds Choir, Australian Girls Choir and Starz Production Team.
