We’ve compiled a list of our South Bank’s favs to test out this weekend.
A cocktail by the river – what luxury
South Bank’s River Quay restaurants not only have delicious food, a pumping atmosphere and wonderful views, but also a divine selection of cocktails.
Settle in with your friends and family for a long lunch at one of the many fabulous restaurants.
From Popolo Italian Kitchen & Bar to Aquitaine Brasserie, River Quay brings cuisine from all over the world to centre of Brisbane.
Cocktail in hand, soaking in the sun's rays and the river’s peaceful view - this vision is sure getting us through the week!
Ultimate Chill-out
Lounged on soft green grass, watching the setting sun’s rays over the city to the sound of laughing children and live music – what better way to end the weekend?
River Quay undeniably has one of the best views in Brisbane, oh, and did we mentioned that it’s licensed from 10am-8pm?
Grab a bottle of wine, shake out a comfy blanket and kickback and unwind.

Lifestyle market
From Friday evening to Sunday arvo the paths of South Bank come to life with the weekly Collective Markets.
Offering heaps of cool trinkets that you won’t find anywhere else, with merchants peddling everything from jewellery & fashion to homewares and gourmet goodies.
Celebrating some of the city’s best emerging artists and creative entrepreneurs, the Collective Markets are the perfect spot to marvel at the cities local talent.
Get your cultural fix
Located on the riverfront, directly across from the CBD, the Cultural Precinct of South Bank is the city's arts and cultural hub.
Snuggle up with a book at the State Library, measure yourself up against a dinosaur at the museum, experiment & investigate at the Science Centre, see a live performance at the Queensland performing Arts Centre or admire the work of international and Australian artists at the Gallery of Modern Art.
With great views of the city from the beautiful parkland surroundings, the Cultural Precinct is bound to educate and amaze all who visit.
Epicurious Garden
Forget going all the way to the country to learn about farm-to-fork.
Right in the heart of the city is Southbank’s edible garden.
With fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables, Epicurious Garden allows you to pick your own produce to take home for the family dinner.
Note: The crops are maintained daily and replaced several times a year to remain seasonal.

The Wheel of Brisbane
For breathtaking scenic views over Southbank, the city and surrounds, the Wheel of Brisbane is a must-do for visitors and locals alike.
Enjoy 12 minutes of 360-degree panoramic views from the safety of a fully enclosed, air-conditioned gondola.
The views are spectacular day or night, however with the sun glistening over the river, sunset is a particularly beautiful time of day.
Burger & Beers
No matter what day of the week, burger and beers are the ultimate combo.
Brisbane’s Brooklyn Depot on Grey street is all things American.
With an array of handcrafted burgers and hot dogs, BBQ ribs & wings, mac n cheese and fries (loaded fries are to die for), the menu will leave you fully satisfied.
And to wash it all down of course, Brooklyn Depot have a range of American craft beers on tap.
