[VIDEO] Fortitude Valley | We Have Found the Ultimate Office Space
By Shannon Edwards // Place New Farm
Inside an industrial warehouse space where recycled shipping containers have become meeting rooms and the deck overlooks the buzzing Fortitude Valley, Lightspace Studios is the ULTIMATE workplace.
Housing all types of small creative businesses from advertisers, wedding planners, publishes, media teams, designers and many, many more, this communal office offers flexible working arrangements for all types of businesses.
“The co-working space provides not only a beautiful working area for individuals, but also provides opportunity for collaboration,” says founder of Lightspace and Lightspace Studios, John Macdonald.
John takes us on a tour of the studio where we ask a few of the in-house creatives, ‘What do you love about working at Lightspace Studios?’
What was the inspiration behind starting Light Space Studios?
A long time ago I lived in Barcelona where there were lots of communal working spaces.
Artists would often take over warehouses to work on collaborations together.
When I returned to Australia, I found a need for a similar office concept.
This warehouse space became available here in Fortitude Valley about eight years ago.
From there, we got the ball rolling pretty quickly and the office spaces have pretty much been full ever since.
What do you think is unique about co-working space?
The great thing about working in a space like this is that you come to work and get to meet like-minded people.
Workers in the space meet people from different disciplines and interact with them on a daily basis.
From there, we’ve seen lots of collaborations and business partnerships formed, that otherwise wouldn’t have been discovered from the comfort of their own home.
