Why is everyone so hot in Newstead?

We’ve been asking this for a while now… and we’ve finally figured it out!

The answer is Harlow Hot Yoga and Pilates. If you haven’t already been, this hot-spot is a must try for those looking to Zen their lives or work up a serious sweat.

The classes on offer are Harlow A (hot power yoga), B (hot yoga) and C (hot pilates) to cater for the needs of all yogi’s.

Guided by a variety of experienced yoga and pilates trainers, there is something about Harlow that is refreshingly addictive.

Guru trainers Nadine Roulston and Libby Hucker (who is also an insta sensation!) reveal their secrets to living a Zen life in the 4005.

Saturdays done right.

6am – Namaste

Wake up early and put your work-out wear on, it’s time for Libby's power yoga class at Harlow Hot Yoga and Pilates. This fast-paced and challenging routine will help provide strength and a clear mind-set for the start of the weekend.

7am - Pranayama (breath awareness)

After leaving Harlow feeling refreshed and awake, join Brisbane’s avid joggers and bikers along the popular river loop.

Soak up the beauty around you – the glassy water, the beautiful park and the wildlife.

First stop, New Farm.

8am – Asanas (seat)

In this popular area, you are spoilt for choice with so many delicious breakfast cafès.

A Libby and Nadine favourite is the Pablo cafè located just up from New Farm park. Here, you’ll find a good hearty serving of avo on toast with all the added extras… plus they serve a great cup of coffee.

10am – Retail Therapy

Walk over to the Powerhouse Brisbane markets for a browse through the fresh produce, homemade health products, and arts and crafts stalls. You will find some of the cheapest priced fruit and vegetables here – it’s a great opportunity to do a weekly shop.

Midday – Kick it up a notch

If you've got time to spare over your lunch break, pop into Inspire cycle at Newstead.

This is one of the best cardio fixes in Brisbane.

They offer a 30min express class so you can work up an appetite right before lunch.

1pm – OM (or should we say, nom?)

Cruise across the road to Evolve cafè where you can pick up plenty of healthy options including a generous plate of nachos, protein filled salads or the ever so popular acai bowl.

Finish off your day in the best way possible. Grab a couple of friends and head to the Watt Riverside Bar and Restaurant for a cool glass of wine or beer.

This is the perfect position, located right on the Brisbane river just underneath the Brisbane Powerhouse, where you can tap into your inner artist and check out a range of shows or simply watch the sun go down.
