Goodbye Winter woollies hello sunshine! Spring is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited.

Giving us warmer days, greener grass and streets lined with flowers, Spring really is the perfect time of year.

What better way to celebrate the arrival of the glorious warmer weather than enjoying a cocktail at one of the city’s fantastic bars.

We’ve compiled a list of the 5 cocktails you must try this season. Trust us, they’ll give you a spring in your step!

Gerard the Drunk

Kick back and relax on the outdoor patio under the shade of an umbrella at the trendy Gerard's Bar in Fortitude Valley.

Tucked away behind James Street, Gerard’s Bar is always buzzing with activity and serves up a delicious menu.

Our spring cocktail pick is the ‘Gerard the Drunk.’

Combining vodka, passionfruit, lemon, rose and orange blossom, this playful blend captures the essence of Spring – fruity and floral.

Gini Hendrix

What’s better than an arvo drink? An arvo drink with a view!

Looking over Fortitude Valley onto the CBD, Eleven Rooftop Bar has one of the best views in the area.

The cocktail list at Eleven is outstanding, but our pick for this season is the ‘Gini Hendrix’.

A sweet blend of Beefeater Gin, elderflower, cloudy apple, citrus, cucumber and mint the ‘Gini Hendrix’ is light and refreshing and perfect for the warmer days.

Would Spring really be Spring without Sunday sessions at Sixes & Sevens?

Call your mates down, lay back on the astroturf and enjoy an afternoon in the sun.

This fruity blend is a great daytime drink to cool you down and one we’re sure everyone will like.

The Mango & Lychee Punch is a fruity blend…with a punch!

White rum, lychee, mango, apple juice, lemon juice and lemonade… yum.

Chemberry

Boasting a relaxed aesthetic and stylish surrounds, Cru Bar + Cellar catches James street’s cool breezes making it the ideal spot for a cool afternoon drink to carry you into the evening.

As an award winning bar there’s no wonder we found it tricky to pick the ultimate Spring cocktail.

A close draw between their list of sparkling cocktails and house classics… we’ve chosen the ‘Chemberry’.

Channelling the sweet, zingy flavour of a raspberry the ‘Chemberry’ uses Chambord as a base with lime juice, raspberry puree, mint and cranberry juice. Did someone say refreshing?!

Missionary’s Downfall

Boasting a tropical fever Alfred & Constance is the ultimate spot for a few drinks in the warmer months!

From Pina Coladas made out of pineapples to flaming punches, Alfred & Constance’s cocktail menu is next level!

We’ve gone for one of the trusty house classics as our spring favourite – The Missionary’s Downfall.

Taking the sweet flavours of honey syrup, and pineapple, blending it with lime and mint and adding in silver rum and peach liqueur for a kick.
