What if we told you there’s a place where you can combine your two great loves … sushi and burritos?

Well… it’s finally here. Suki at Southbank makes dreams come true - what’s even better is they’re set to open up shop right in the heart of Bulimba!

The bright space of pastel pink and blue welcomes all to enjoy a beautiful blend of Japanese, Mexican and Hawaiian cuisine creating food that’s finger-lickin’-good.

We caught up with the CEO of Suki, Kim Toovey, and while hanging out on their swing chairs, Kim shared insight into the ‘bigger, better, brighter’ space that’s set for Bulimba.

Where did the concept of Suki come from?

After a number of trips to California, we absolutely fell in love with a dish that was booming at the time, poke.

Poke (pronounced, poh-key) is a traditional Hawaiian dish of raw fish, rice and salads – raw fish has never tasted so good!

In California we saw a lot of similarities to our style of dining here in Australia and thought it would be an absolute winner, and so far Brisbane’s loving it!

Our team of awesome-food scientists had a breakthrough that was bound to change the lives of those who visit Suki: a mouth-watering combination of the best Japanese and Mexican cuisine – the ‘sushi burrito.’

Using a top-secret method, Suki were able to marry these two incredible foods, resulting in a creation that looks and taste as incredible as it is game-changing.
