The Sherwood Community Festival has been running for 23 years and is known as a local favourite.

If you missed this vibrant event, don’t worry, we’re about to give you a taste of what it was like in preparation for 2018.

The rain sprinkled at the beginning of the evening, but soon disappeared, leaving a beautiful night and a street full of Brisbanites ready to take in everything the event had on offer.

With over 130 stalls and four entertainment areas, the festival was buzzing with a crowd of over 10,000 people.

Everywhere you turned, there was something different to eat or do. The smiles on the faces said it all.

Every year, it’s an enormous job for the festival committee, but they love what they do.

We chat with organisers Joseph Deakin and Paul and Louise Scarr.

Before Paul joined the team, he won 2nd and 3rd prize in the raffle and became involved soon after with planning this year’s event.

“I was recruited,” he joked.

A fantastic night was had by all - take a watch!
