Nestled in Hawken Village, St Lucia, Xtend Barre has become a kind of religion for its participants.

“There’s nothing quite like what we do here, especially in the Western suburbs,” owner Suzie Combemorel says.

“It can be a bit addictive - no two classes are the same!”

Suzie is a classically-trained ballerina from Brisbane and has danced professionally for 14 years around the world in places like Paris for the Moulin Rouge and Covent Garden.

After she met her husband in France and had her son, Suzie decided it was time to come back to her hometown of Brisbane.

It felt like the right time to open her own studio because she could see there was a gap in this kind of exercise.

That’s when Xtend Barre St Lucia was born.

The workouts are a combinations of pilates, dance and ballet and you’re guaranteed to come out feeling sore but happy!

We chatted to Suzie about her dancing career and why she loves Xtend Barre!
