When Forest Lake local Shane Kent became a dad, he knew it was important to get fit.

He started off walking with the pram, which turned into running short distances.

Eventually, he was running longer distances and a friend suggested he give triathlons a try.

Fast-forward 10 years and Shane now competes regularly in both Ironman competitions and triathlons.

But these days, it’s not just Shane you have to watch out for!

His two kids, Mason, 10, and Piper, 7, also compete in kid’s triathlons and LOVE it.

Shane says it’s great for them to be able to do sports individually and in a team as well.

Mason and Piper both love being competitive, but also love making friends along the way.

Watch out dad, these two are catching up quick!
